Following previously completed orthodontic treatment performed externally, the patient wished to further enhance the aesthetics of his smile. In particular, he was dissatisfied with the limited visibility of the upper front teeth when speaking and smiling, as well as with the insufficient tooth length and tooth shade. In addition, pronounced abrasion with functional loss of tooth structure was present in the anterior region.

To enable precise functional and aesthetic planning, an individual wax-up was created to simulate the planned bite elevation in the upper jaw. Using an intraoral mock-up, the future reconstruction — including tooth aesthetics, tooth length, and functional harmony — could be visualised realistically prior to the definitive treatment phase.

As part of the treatment concept, a carefully planned bite elevation was carried out to create sufficient space for the minimally invasive reconstruction of the worn teeth and to re-establish physiological anterior and canine guidance.

To stabilise and functionally secure the new bite position, the patient subsequently underwent an accompanying splint therapy over a period of three months. In addition, a professional in-office bleaching treatment was performed to achieve the desired bright tooth shade as the basis for the final restorations.
